Invoicing is an integral part of every business, so taking the time to ensure that your paperwork really works for you is often a wise investment.
In part three of the Managing Cashflow guides from the ICM and BIS you can find a wealth of useful information to help your company avoid the common invoicing pitfalls, reduce delays and remove excuses for non-payment.
This guide follows the by now familiar set up, a simple checklist of questions to help you keep on top of your invoicing as well as the always useful top tips. You can download the guide below:
Resident Credit Control expert and our MD Sid Home elaborates on some of the key points in this guide:
“Always make sure that your invoices are issued correctly and include all the relevant information your customers need to process the invoice and make a payment is included at the outset.
Invoices that are incomplete or missing certain key information (a purchase order number for example) give your customers a ready made excuse to avoid or delay payment.
If a client does query or dispute an invoice, you must move to resolve this query as soon as possible to minimise any delay in payment.”
